BIOGRAPHY

Reel is an Italian heavy metal band from Varese, founded in 2021 by brothers Axel and Matthew Reel, later joined by Christian Federico, Nicolas Pierro, and La Stria.

In 2017, Axel, still the bassist and vocalist of Athon at the time, began writing new songs with the goal of exploring different sounds and building his own artistic identity. This creative process led to the first ideas that would eventually give birth to the Reel project.

In 2021, Axel left Athon and, together with Matthew, officially founded Reel, starting the recording sessions for their debut album "In Each of Us": a conceptual work that explores the light and darkness within each of us, between the desire for change, human fragility, and the search for one’s own identity.

The first part of the album was recorded in May 2022, with Axel on vocals and keyboards, Matthew on guitars and backing vocals, and a session drummer. During the summer, Christian Federico joined the band as bassist, followed in February 2023 by Andrea Agliardi and Nicolas Pierro, completing Reel’s first official lineup.

In 2024, Reel released two music videos that gained great feedback online and played several live shows, including Rock Innsomma. That same year, the band also took part in the Rock in Day selections, further establishing their presence in the live scene.

In August 2024, Andrea left the band to pursue other musical projects. In February 2025, La Stria (Beatrice Rampinelli), singer and guitarist, joined the lineup, completing the current formation.

The first part of In Each of Us was released in October 2024, while the second part is currently in production and set to be released during 2026.
