He started playing guitar at the age of fifteen, when his father, following Axel’s suggestion, gave him an acoustic Gonzales as a gift.

After some initial uncertainty, he began experimenting with the instrument and soon realized he had found his path.

He spent several years as a self-taught musician, taking lessons only for a few months due to financial difficulties.
During this period, he explored different musical genres until he discovered his true home in rock and metal.

His hard rock soul gradually took shape, influenced by guitarists such as Tony Iommi, Ritchie Blackmore, Brian May, and Randy Rhoads, who continue to inspire him in both his playing and songwriting.

In 2020, following Axel’s proposal, the idea of creating a band that could unite their shared passions and musical influences was born. The project took concrete form the following year with the official founding of Reel in 2021.

To prepare for this new adventure, he began studying under Paolo Anessi (https://www.paoloanessi.it/), deepening his technique, expressiveness, and approach to composition.

Since then, Matthew has continued to play, write, and experiment, carrying forward with Reel a musical vision built on energy, emotion, and personal exploration.
